Rainfall statistics for Rockhampton Aerodrome (BOM station #039083, 1939 - current) are displayed in
Figure 12. On average, 879mm of rainfall occurs annually. Rainfall is generally highest from December
to March. Potential evaporation for the region is some 1,822mm on average. The highest evaporation
occurs from October to March. Evaporation is significantly reduced during the dry season, with the
lowest evaporation occurring in June. The rainfall statistics have been incorporated into the
determination of the PMP for the design of the Upper Mundic Gully TSF.

The primary wind direction is southeast to east as indicated in the Wind Rose from Rockhampton Aero
provided in Figure 39. It is noted that the distance between the Rockhampton Aero and Mount Morgan
Mine is approximately 38km and wind conditions may differ between the two locations.
