Table 3. Likelihood of occurrence criteria. Status Definition Known
Species known to occur from recent reliable records* within the Project area.
Likely
Recent reliable records of the species within 1 km of the Project area and/or preferred habitat known to be present, and recent reliable records within 5 km. Species recorded˟ within 10 km of the Project area and/or suitable habitat mapped as present. Species not recorded within 50 km of the Project area and suitable habitat not mapped as present.
Possible
Unlikely
* Records less than 20 years old and from reputable sources using vetted data (primarily Wildnet) ˟ May include older and unconfirmed records
2.2.RE Ground-Truthing Regional Ecosystems within the Project area were ground-truthed using the quaternary survey methodology as per as per the Methodology for Surveying and Mapping Regional Ecosystems (Neldner, et al., 2022). These surveys occurred along the active search tracks, with effort targeted towards capturing ecotones to accurately delineate REs. The ground-truthed REs are mapped in Figure 4 2.3.Fauna Survey Methods 2.3.1. Permits, Ethical Considerations, and Qualifications WTS is the holder of the following certificates and permits allowing for the undertaking of fauna surveys:
• Scientific Research Permit – number WA0037567; and • Scientific Use Registration Certificate – number SUR001656.
8 Wulguru Technical Services Pty Ltd – Heritage Minerals Upper Mundic Gully TSF – Fauna Survey Assessment Report 2.3.3.1. Camera Trapping Targeted camera trapping surveys were conducted from 28 th August to 12 th September 2025. Eight camera traps were deployed for 16 nights totalling 128 trap nights. However, some cameras did not record the full 16 nights; a detailed breakdown of timing for each camera site is provided below in Table 4. 2.3.3. Survey Design and Effort All surveys were conducted in accordance with the relevant survey guidelines by experienced field ecologists who hold at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Where deemed necessary or complementary to the surveys, advice was sought from external experts in the field of interest. WTS has a signed formal agreement with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Animal Ethics Committee. All surveys and fauna interactions are carried out in accordance with this agreement and the Australian code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes (National Health and Medical Research Council, 2013). 2.3.2. Survey Timing Surveys were conducted during the dry season, from late August to mid-September. Surveys were conducted at this time complementary GHD’s wet season surveys to account for seasonal variation as per the Terrestrial Vertebrate Fauna Survey Guidelines for Queensland (Eyre, et al., 2022).
