3. Results
3.1.Summary of Initial Desktop and Field Survey Results Below is a summary of the results of the initial ecological surveys as conducted by GHD during April 2025. The results of these surveys are outlined in depth in Section 3 of GHD’s Ecological assessment report (GHD, 2025).
3.1.1. Regional Ecosystem Mapping Mapped presence of 3 RE’s: 11.10.2, 11.10.4b and 11.12.6.

BD Status 2
11.10.2
Eucalyptus saligna, Syncarpia glomulifera subsp. glomulifera open forest. Corymbia citriodora, E. major, E. acmenoides and C. trachyphloia occur on drier sites. Often a distinct shrub or secondary tree layer dominated by species such as Livistona spp. and Pittosporum undulatum , particularly in moist habitats, is present. Occurs in sheltered gorges in ranges formed from medium to coarse-grained sediments. OC
OC
11.10.4b
Eucalyptus crebra, Eucalyptus exserta woodland. Small areas that occur in conjunction with E. decorticans woodland. Occurs on undulating terrain and occasionally on ridgetops.

11.12.6
Corymbia citriodora, Eucalyptus crebra, E. microcarpa/E. moluccana, Angophora leiocarpa and E. melanophloia open forest to woodland. Associated soils are often deep texture contrast with thin sandy or loamy surface horizon over acid mottled subsoils to shallow sandy or loamy skeletal soils. May include areas that occur on deeply weathered granite LC

1 VM Status – VM Act 1999 Status. LC – Least Concern. OC – Of Concern 2 BD Status – Biodiversity Status. NC – No concern at present. OC - Of Concern 3.1.2. Threatened ecological communities The EPBC Protected Matters Search Tool (PMST) returned three endangered (E) Threatened ecological communities (TECs) may occur within and surrounding the Project area: – Weeping Myall Woodlands (Endangered) – Coolibah – Black Box Woodlands of the Darling Riverine Plains and the Brigalow Belt (Endangered) – Poplar Box grassy woodland on alluvial plains (Endangered) No REs mapped to the Project area aligned with any of these TECs. (DCCEEW, 2023). 3.1.3. Conservation Significant Fauna No EVNT fauna species were observed during the initial survey period through camera trapping, incidental observations, or secondary signs. One species of conservation significance was confirmed present during the initial surveys:
• Short-beaked echidna ( Tachyglossus aculeatus ) – SL (NCA)
It is important to note that lack of record does not confirm the absence of a species within the Project area.
3.1.4. Conservation Significant Flora Two EVNT flora species were confirmed present during the initial survey:
