3.3.Updated Field Survey Results

3.3.1. Observed Survey Conditions Weather data relevant to the field survey was obtained from the Rockhampton Airport weather station (39083) (Bureau of Meteorology, 2025) focusing on daily maximum and minimum temperatures and daily rainfall. BoM acknowledges detection reliability by the automatic system varies and some observations may not be available. No rainfall was recorded during the camera trapping survey period with the exception of the 1 st of September where 6 mm of rainfall was recorded. The average maximum and minimum temperatures during the survey period was 27.4 degrees and 14.1 degrees respectively.

.

3.3.2. Fauna Habitat Suitability The Project area was surveyed during active searches and incidental/opportunistic observations to determine any areas of potentially suitable habitat for the Greater Glider, Yellow-bellied Glider and Northern Quoll. Potential habitat for the ENVT bat species, Ghost Bat ( Macroderma gigas ) has already been identified in a tunnel within the Project area 3.3.2.1. Greater Glider (Petauroides volans) and Yellow-bellied Glider (Petaurus australis australis) One hollow in a Eucalypt stag was observed during field surveys (Figure 7), however gliders required trees with a DBH > 50 cm for breeding purposes. None of the tree hollows that were observed were of DBH> 50 cm and are therefore not suitable breeding habitats for the greater glider or yellow-bellied glider species.
