6. Potential Environmental Impacts and Management
6.1. Existing Management Practices
Heritage Minerals has developed an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) that forms the basis for
an Environmental Management System (EMS), aligned with ISO14001:2015, to manage environmental
impacts. The EMS will ultimately be certified to ISO14001:2015.
The EMP has been developed specifically for the Project with reference to Heritage Minerals’ standards
and procedures, along with relevant regulatory requirements to form part of the EMS. The EMP
describes how Heritage Minerals will administer the environmental objectives, strategies, commitments
and conditions for the Project, as per the EA.
The EMP focuses on key processes and procedures that will be employed to aid in the delivery of
commitments and management of activities and personnel for the Project. This will ensure that all
relevant environmental aspects are identified, and potential impacts appropriately avoided, mitigated or
managed, in accordance with a risk-based approach.
There are several environmental procedures that form part of the EMP as follows:
Audit and Inspection Procedure;
•
• Consultation and Communication Procedure;
Document Control Procedure;
•
Dust And Air Quality Procedure;
•
Emergency Management Procedure;
•
Fauna Management Procedure;
•
Fire Management Procedure;
•
Flora Management Procedure;
•
Hazardous Substances Procedures;
•
Heritage and Cultural Procedure;
•

•
Management Review Procedure;
•
Noise and Vibration Procedure;
•
Procurement Procedure;
•
Soil Management Procedure;
•

•
The procedures describe standard controls to be implemented by Heritage Minerals in development of
the Project. Relevant management controls as outlined within these procedures are discussed in the
following sections.
