2.4. Summary of Risks and Likely Magnitude of Impacts on Environmental
Values
This section provides an assessment of the proposed activity, being the construction and operation of
Upper Mundic Gully TSF, in relation to the site environmental values and the potential impacts and
controls to manage the associated risks. A summary of risks and likely magnitude of impacts on
environmental values are presented in Table 12. The full risk assessment that underpinned this
summary is provided in Section 7.
Overall, the risk assessment found that the proposed activity of placing processed tailings into a new
TSF does not present an increased risk of adverse impact to the site’s environmental values.
Environmental aspects of the proposed activity that require management to ensure continued protection
of the site environmental values include Matters of State Environmental Significance (MSES) which are
discussed further in Section 6.9.
