Introduction
1.1 Overview Heritage Minerals has engaged GHD Pty Ltd (GHD) to assess terrestrial ecological values of a potential new Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) in Upper Mundic Gully (referred to as Upper Mundic Gully TSF, or the Project). The Upper Mundic Gully TSF is not included as an authorised disturbance area within Table A1 of Environmental Authority (EA) EPML00433013 and a major EA amendment is required. GHD have been engaged to undertake an ecology impact assessment of the area of the proposed Upper Mundic Gully TSF (project area) and surrounding environment to support the minor EA amendment. 1.2 Purpose of this report The purpose of this Factual Ecological Assessment Report (EAR) is to present the baseline terrestrial ecological values present within the project area. The objectives of this EAR are to determine the terrestrial ecological values within the survey area and to determine the presence of Matters of National Environmental Significance (MNES), and Matters of State Environmental Significance (MSES) predicted to occur or have the potential to occur within the survey area. 1.3 Terminology Key terminology used throughout the report is outlined in Table 1.1.
