Regulated vegetation management map

The Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing, and Regional and Rural Development (DNRMMRRD) regulated vegetation management map was viewed to determine the type and extent of regulated vegetation and regional ecosystems mapped within the project area. The MSES environmental database and report tool was used to identify MSES including aquatic protected areas, essential wetland habitats and waterways, and conservation significant species protected under the NC Act (DETSI, 2025). The DETSI Species Profile Search was used to obtain spatial records and accompanying data for threatened species previously recorded in proximity to the project area. WetlandMaps was used to view Wetlands mapping spatial features to identify lacustrine, riverine and palustrine water bodies or Regional Ecosystems (REs) through point features, major and minor watercourses lines, and polygons of wetland waterbodies and wetland RE (DETSI, 2019). DETSI WildNet database was searched to retrieve historical records of flora and fauna species previously recorded within the study area. The WildNet online database was assessed through Biomaps to identify the location and date of historical records of threatened species within the study area QLD Globe was used to view spatial features mapped within the project area (Queensland Government, 2025) The watercourse identification mapping was assessed through Queensland Globe to determine any watercourses as defined by the Water Act 2000 (Queensland Government, 2025) within the study area. The ALA database (2025) was searched to retrieve historical sighting records of threatened flora and fauna species within the study area The AVH database (2025) was used to retrieve historical records of flora species previously collected in the vicinity of the study area

Threatened Ecological Community (TEC) assessments

The location of TEC assessments was informed by the results of desktop assessments to direct survey effort towards those TECs most likely to occur within the project area. TEC assessments were conducted within areas of the project area with vegetation that conforms with TEC associated REs. Assessments were conducted in accordance with the diagnostic criteria and conditions thresholds outlined in the individual Conservation Advice for individual TECs. Variables of interest included: – Canopy crown cover – Dominance of non-native species (% in 1 m quadrats) – Groundcover species diversity – Canopy species dominance. – Canopy cover species diversity – Abundance of large trees (per hectare). Characterisation and mapping of regulated vegetation was undertaken in accordance with the Queensland Herbarium’s methodology (Neldner et al. 2020). The quaternary level of assessment was applied and involved recording floristic information concerning the
