Unlikely to occur The nearest reliable historical record is 100 km north (from 1991) (ALA, 2025). The project area is approximately 14 km south of their mapped ‘possible range’ (ABS 2025). Potentially suitable roosting and foraging habitat is present within the project area. This species was not recorded on the deployed Anabat during surveys. Due to the species known distribution and distance to Confirmed present The project area occurs within the species distribution. Suitable northern quoll habitat in eucalypt woodlands usually have complex ground layers and high structural diversity. There were occurrences of rocky outcrops within each RE which supported some potentially suitable dispersal, and foraging habitat. Important habitats including termite mounds and hollow logs were generally absent to very low occurrences within the project area. the nearest historical record, this species is considered unlikely to occur. This species was not recorded during field surveys visually (during surveys or while the camera traps were deployed) however a northern quoll scat was recorded within the project area. Despite the presence of the scat, there was no evidence of quoll activity recorded across 16 nights of remote camera trapping (targeted with bait for northern quoll). The project area occurs within the species

Found mainly in areas with extensive cliffs and caves, from Rockhampton in Queensland south to Bungonia in the NSW Southern Highlands (DCCEEW 2025). Generally rare with a very patchy distribution in NSW and scattered records from the New England Tablelands and Northwest Slopes. Roosts in caves, crevices in cliffs, old mine workings and in the disused, bottle shaped mud nests of the Fairy Martin ( Petrochelidon ariel ), frequenting low to mid- elevation dry open forest and woodland close to these features. Found in well- timbered areas containing gullies (DCCEEW, 2025). The northern quoll ( Dasyurus hallucatus ) occupies a variety of habitats, including open dry sclerophyll forests and woodlands, riparian woodlands, low dry vine thickets, the ecotones of notophyll vine forests, mangrove systems, agricultural lands such as sugarcane farms, and peri-urban environments. The species tends to be most abundant in rocky or hilly terrain in proximity to permanent water sources. Populations are unlikely to persist in landscapes where less than 50–70 % of woodland cover is retained within a 4-kilometre radius (TSSC, 2005b).

Within the species known distribution – mapped as may occur in SPRAT

The nearest historical record of the species is located approximately 100 km north of the project area, dated to 1991 (DETSI, 2025). The project area lies approximately 14 km south of the species’ mapped ‘possible range’ (ABS, 2025).

No

Yes - species can occur in low densities across a broad area, can be cryptic and difficult to detect

The nearest historical record occurs approximately 7 km northeast of the project area from 2000 (DETSI, 2025).

Suitable dispersal, and foraging habitat has been recorded in the project area.

Yes, secondary traces – 1 x northern quoll scat was observed within the Project footprint. This specimen was identified visually by an independent subject matter expert.

Within the species known distribution – mapped as likely to occur in SPRAT. Species identified as ‘known to occur’ in PMST.
