MT MORGAN OPEN CUT PIT WATER QUALITY MODELLING stage 2 ● 12

3. METHOD

3.1 DATA GATHERING All data used in the preparation of this report were provided from databases accessed by Heritage Minerals and the Department of Resources and Mines. They included OCP water quality data up to 2022 and final tailings data. 3.1.1 SUMMARY STATISTICS OF OCP DATA A data review was undertaken to determine the availability and quality of OCP water quality data. Fifteen OCP water quality analytical results from 06/09/2017 to 08/11/2022 were used. All data included in the computation for the summary statistics presented in this report were thoroughly reviewed as part of the QA/QC process to ensure a single sample was not repeated in the final dataset as a result of using various sources. Any concentration reported below the laboratory limit of reporting (LOR) was considered equal to the LOR divided by 2 for computational purposes. Table 3-1 (physico-chemical parameters and nutrients), Table 3-2 (dissolved metals and metalloids) and Table 3-3 (total metals and metalloids) present summary statistics of surface water quality OCP water. The analysis results confirmed that the OCP water is acidic and contained high aluminium, magnesium and sulphate concentrations. There were also significant concentrations of copper, manganese, zinc and chlorides.
