concept to placing PAF material within NAF material to reduce potential for contaminant migration. The use of selected rock from Western Dump within the embankment, where it will be enclosed by verified clean material, is a better environmental outcome than the status quo whereby uncontrolled discharge of ARD into surface water features is occurring as evidenced by the surface water results described in Section 0. There is a risk that during Western Dump reshaping activities associated with TSF construction, contaminants may migrate to the receiving environment. However typical construction controls can be implemented such as appropriate short term stockpiling management, segregating PAF from NAF material and establishing appropriate stockpile drainage. Notwithstanding the strategy to better environmental outcomes at the site for mine features that is not included in the EA, a description of management measures to avoid, mitigate or manage environmental harm that may be caused by the construction of UMG TSF and interface with the western dump is provided in Table 32.
