Mount Morgan Mine Upper Mundic Gully TSF EA Amendment

7.6 Noise and Vibration In preparing this application, consideration has been given to guideline ESR/2015/1838 – Application requirements for activities with noise impacts (DETSI, 2024e). DETSI is required to assess the application against the requirements stated in the Environmental Protection Act 1994 , EP Regulation and the Environmental Protection (Noise) Policy 2019 (EPP Noise) to meet the environmental objective and performance outcomes described below: Environmental Objective ‘The activity will be operated in a way that protects the environmental values of the acoustic environment.’ Performance Outcome ∕ Sound from the activity is not audible at a sensitive receptor, or ∕ The release of sound to the environment from the activity is managed so that adverse effects on environmental values, including health and wellbeing and sensitive ecosystems, are prevented or minimised. 7.6.1 Values As the project is ramping up to production, existing noise contributions are limited to construction activities, vehicle movements and ongoing operation of various pumps and aerators by the DNRMMRRD. No known sources of vibration currently affect the local community. The closest sensitive receptors are residences within the township of Mount Morgan as indicated on Figure 50. The distance of the closest sensitive receptors from proposed activities under this amendment is approximately 2100 m.
