Comparison of historical failure peak discharge against dam height
The estimated peak discharge for the STSF failure outflow hydrograph falls within the general envelope of historical dam failure releases. Although it should be noted that the peak discharge is affected by multiple factors (including embankment geometry, embankment type and impoundment volume), the estimated peak discharge is a reasonable estimate for this assessment.
