Tailings
3.1 Tailings production forecast Mining operations are scheduled to commence in August 2026. Production will ramp up over the first six months to a steady state processing rate of 2Mtpa, producing approximately 165,000tonnes of tailings per month [13].
3.2 Tailings characteristics
Laboratory testing has been undertaken in June 2021, using tailings collected from various locations across the Mount Morgan Mine site, including: — No.2 Mill — Red Oxide — OCP tailings — Mundic. The tailings are classified as low plasticity SILT in accordance with the unified soil classification system (USCS) and the Net Acid Producing Potential (NAPP) of the tailings indicates that they are acid forming [14] [15].
3.2.1 Slurry
Tailings slurry characteristics for LOM are presented in the Basis of Design in Table 2.2 and summarised in Table 3.1.

3.2.2 Geochemistry
No site-specific geochemical characterisation testing has been undertaken for the tailings.
