Fauna results
3.4.1 Conservation significant species During the desktop analysis, the PMST and Wildlife Online (WO) reports identified 29 conservation significant fauna species that have the potential to occur within the study area based on species’ distributions and/or records (Table 3-9/Appendix A). These species include: – 14 birds – Eight mammals – Seven reptiles Of these 29 conservation significant fauna species, two have been recorded in the study area on the WO database (Table 3-9). No species have been previously recorded within the project area or survey area. The northern quoll has the closest historical record, being located approximately 7 km northeast from the project area. All conservation significant fauna species and the number of records within the study area are summarised in Table 3-9.
