Field observed fauna species
No MNES threatened fauna species were Confirmed present within the project area. Three MNES threatened fauna species: the koala, northern quoll and ghost bat were considered Likely to occur within the project area. These species are further discussed in Section 4.5. One MSES threatened fauna species was Confirmed present within the project area (Plate 3-4) during field surveys (as captured on remote cameras):
– Short-beaked echidna ( Tachyglossus aculeatus ) – special least concern (NC Act).

A total of 37 fauna species were recorded during the ecological surveys across the project area and survey area. This comprised of 25 species birds, six mammals, three reptiles and three amphibians. Some photos of native species are presented in Plate 3-5. Two Anabats and two remote cameras were deployed within the project area for 16 days, specifically around Upper Mundic Gully Dam. One conservation significant species was recorded on the remote cameras, as described above. Several individuals of dingo/wild dog were recorded across several nights on one camera. Six native species were recorded on the remote cameras. A list of all fauna species encountered during ecological field surveys is provided in Appendix C.
