6 Conclusions This SMP establishes a structured and adaptive framework for managing potential seepage associated with the proposed UMG TSF, based on the current conceptual understanding of site geological and hydrogeological conditions. At this stage of the Project, seepage management remains preliminary and reflects the evolving nature of site understanding and TSF design development. A key outcome of this SMP is the identification of critical data gaps and uncertainties that influence confidence in the characterisation of seepage pathways, groundwater behaviour, and potential interactions with surface water receptors. Addressing these gaps through targeted field investigations and monitoring is essential to improve the reliability of the hydrogeological conceptualisation and to support subsequent numerical assessments and design decisions. The acquisition of additional geological and hydrogeological data will enable progressive refinement of the site understanding, allowing seepage behaviour to be more accurately characterised and supporting evaluation of whether design modifications or mitigation measures are required. The SMP is intended to operate as a live framework that evolves as new data are collected and interpreted. Through this iterative process, uncertainty will be systematically reduced and confidence in seepage prediction increased, ensuring that seepage management remains evidence ‑ based, proportionate to risk, and aligned with regulatory expectations throughout the life of the Project.
