• Maintaining correct labeling of tubestock to correspond to parent number in order to track the genetics. • Tracking and reporting on progress, including germination rates, survival rates, growth stages, health, watering/fertiliser regimes, representative photos. This information will be forwarded to the Specialist ecologist for entry into the translocation database. Odd Spot Plants has been approached to undertake this contract. The owner and principal horticulturalist Neil Paterson has degree qualifications in Horticulture and 30 plus years of experience in the storing of seed and propagation of native Australian plants. This nursery is uniquely equipped to be able to propagate via seed; cuttings; grafting; transplanting and from invitro tissue culture stock. This Nursery has prior experience in propagating threatened native plants via the above methods and a full understanding of the need to keep accurate records at every stage of the process. 5.2.6 On-Site Nursery An on-site nursery will be developed for the re-establishment of rescued adult and seedling plants from the impact site. This on-site nursery will be developed on an already disturbed, flat area of land labeled Paterson’s Patch, West of the mine lookout at per Figure 3. It will be managed by the proponent’s staff under the supervision of GAP Tree Change Pty Ltd. The on-site nursery will be constructed as an open stand area consisting of gravel and weedmat. With a surrounding 1.8m high security fence which will be constructed covered with shade cloth to act as a windbreak and visual deterrent. This fencing will exclude any stock or feral animals as well as assisting to eliminate weed seeds being blown onto site. Security cameras will also be installed on site, so that the area can be always monitored and kept secure. Irrigation will be installed in the form of water tanks supplying automatic dripper lines; and manual ‘top-up’ irrigation via hose. Water will be trucked in as required to fill the tanks. Any treatments for insects or fungal infections will be performed on an as needed basis under the recommendations from GAP T C. Further details are provided in 5.5.1 On-Site Nursery Handling. All adult and seedling plants will be labeled with the correct appropriate number in order to keep track of the genetic diversity.
