be given to using manual weed removal methods to minimise potential impacts on native plants in the recipient area. If chemical methods are deemed necessary, non-systemic herbicides will be used to ensure minimal impacts on native plants within the recipient area. Any necessary weed control activities shall be completed less than 4 weeks prior to translocation works commencing. All vehicles prior to entering the recipient site will be washed clean of any potential weed seeds. An in-depth explanation of this washing process is explained in Section 5.9. Fencing, Signage and Security The recipient sites should be fenced to prevent risk of damage from entry by persons, stock or feral animals. The fence shall be constructed as an electric fence using a solar panel and battery for the supply of electricity and appropriate fencing tape. Appropriate “electric fence” and “no unauthorised access” signs shall be erected around the recipient sites. Warning signs shall also be erected along the maintenance tracks, where deemed necessary to prevent damage. Security cameras shall be installed around the recipient sites where appropriate to maintain security and monitor access. Fire Management In order to reduce the risk of a fire event affecting the recipient site during this re- establishment phase, weeds will be maintained. The initial preparation of the recipient site shall involve the control of all weeds that have potential to increase the fire risk to the C. megacarpa plants, especially grasses. Weeds shall be controlled through hand removal and/or spot spraying with appropriate herbicides to establish a weed-free area within the recipient planting areas. Selective grazing will be conducted in the surrounding area to the recipient site to ensure grass is kept low and thus reducing the threat of fire. All vehicles prior to entering the recipient site will be washed clean of any potential weed seeds and thus maintaining a low fuel load. The process required for this vehicle wash down is detailed in Section 5.9. Irrigation System Irrigation will be installed in the form of water tanks supplying a hose for manual irrigation conducted on an ‘as needed’ basis as per Section 5.5.2 Planting. Water will be trucked in as required to fill the tanks.
