5.2 Management and Propagation Team The roles and responsibilities of key members of the transplantation team are outlined in the following subsections:
5.2.1 The proponent The proponent will be responsible for obtaining and ensuring compliance with all project approval conditions, more specifically: • Ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are obtained prior to commencement of works at the subject site. • Ensuring all contractors / parties comply with all conditions of necessary permits and approvals relating to the works, including the requirements of the Impact Mitigation Management Plan. • Arrange suitably experienced persons (Specialist ecologist and plant collection contractor) to undertake the planting works and to conduct ongoing management, maintenance and monitoring of the site for the duration of the maintenance and monitoring period. • Ensuring adequate resources are available for implementing the planting area and requirements of the Impact Mitigation Management Plan. • Providing notifications and monitoring reports as specified in any approvals and permit conditions, which are to be confirmed*. • Maintaining accurate records of all activities associated with or relevant to any conditions of approval, including implementation of the Impact Mitigation Management Plan, and providing these records to regulatory authorities as specified in approval and permit conditions, which are to be confirmed*. • Securing the long-term protection of the transplanted individuals at the recipient site. *(With the impact being exempt and the “no net loss” being voluntary it is not envisaged any conditions other than those offered in this document will be imposed) 5.2.2 Specialist ecologist A specialist ecologist, experienced with propagation and transplanting of native plants from the order Proteales , shall be engaged by the proponent and will be responsible for: • Identifying each original plant with a unique number and overseeing this unique identifier remains with all seed; plant material collected; and transplanted tubestock. • Overseeing all stages of the program, including on-ground maintenance of recipient sites. • Providing technical advice to the proponent as required.
