Department Interest – General Financial assurance A1
The amount of financial assurance has been calculated in accordance with EHP guidelines. Currently $40,000 is held by the Queensland Government as financial assurance for the Project. The financial assurance calculation applies only to the limited exploration activities undertaken by the EA holder. The financial assurance will remain in force for the period of this PoO. There are no plans to relinquish the tenure during the term of this PoO. All activities undertaken during the term of this PoO will be conducted in a manner consistent with any agreement between the State of Queensland and the EA holder. A cultural heritage structural assessment has been undertaken jointly by Norton and the DNRME to assess the structural condition of the Mount Morgan State Heritage Place. Plant and equipment necessary for the compliance with these EA conditions will be maintained and operated in accordance with the manufacturers’ specifications. All relevant equipment manuals will be accessible to personnel on the Project. A schedule of equipment maintenance will be included as part of the ongoing operation of the Project. All staff using the equipment will be trained in the safe and effective use of these measures, plant and equipment. If required, personal protective equipment will be made available to those staff operating the measures, plant or equipment. If hazardous materials are to be used, then appropriate safety equipment and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) will be provided and stored with the associated measures, plant or equipment.

The environmental authority holder is authorised to carry out mining activities on the Mining Leases following application under Part 6 of the Queensland Heritage Act 1992, and approvals of works to heritage listed property under subsequent provisions. Maintenance of measures, plant and equipment A5 The environmental authority holder must ensure: (a) That all measures, plant and equipment necessary to ensure compliance with the conditions of this environmental authority are installed; and (b) That such measures, plant and equipment are maintained in a proper condition; and (c) That such measures, plant and equipment are operated in a proper manner.
