6.7.4.1 Other species determination The information request issued by DETSI on 23 January 2026 required further species assessment to clearly demonstrate a significant residual impact will not take place. Subsequent field surveys and verification of existing survey records have been undertaken to address the information

request, with results provided in Table 48. Table 48. Subsequent species assessment

Ultrasound surveys that occurred over 22 nights identified at least six bat species across the entire site:

A survey of the tunnel was conducted on the 26 February 2026 in accordance with Section 9.8 of the Terrestrial Vertebrate Fauna Survey Guidelines for Queensland. During the survey, bat species were observed however there was no observation of clusters hanging from the ceiling nor observable guano accumulation or ammonia smell.

Unlikely to occur The nearest reliable historical record is 100 km north (from 1991) (ALA, 2025). The project area is approximately 14 km south of their mapped ‘possible range’ (ABS 2025). Potentially suitable roosting and foraging habitat is present within the project area. This species was not recorded on the deployed Anabat during surveys. Due to the species known distribution and distance to the nearest historical record, this species is considered unlikely to occur. Unlikely to occur. There is limited preferred habitat for the species within the project area. The nearest record is approximately 90 km from the project area (DETSI, 2025). As such the species is considered unlikely to occur within the project area. Unlikely to occur. The nearest historical record occurs approximately 27 km east of the project area from 1974 (DETSI, 2025).

Potentially suitable foraging and roosting habitat is present in the project area. However, the rocky scarp area identified in the photographs that were subject to the IR is above the full supply level of the TSF, therefore there will be no disturbance to this area.

Geophaps scripta (Squatter pigeon southern)

V

V

Ecological assessments have confirmed that the project area is not suitable habitat for Squatter pigeon due the absence of clean water sources within the Upper Mundic Gully ephemeral dam and the OCP

Delma Torquata (Collared delma)

V

V

The project area is not suitable habitat for Collared Delma, as it is too dry and no sufficient ground cover outside weeds is available for Collared Delma habitat.
