1.3 Tailing management plan purpose
The purpose of this tailing management plan (TMP) for the UMG TSF is document tailings storage management practices for the life-of-facility (LOF), including:
— Tailings deposition management — Tailings production rate forecast — Tailings characteristics — Long-term tailings deposition strategy — Tailings and water management
— Monitoring and surveillance requirements — Closure and rehabilitation requirements — A high-level failure modes analyses (FMA). This TMP is based on the UMG TSF Conceptual Design to RL 390 m [1] and will be updated, where necessary, fonce the detailed design has been completed.
