Description of Risk
Magnitude of Impact
Social and Community
∕
Nearby Mount Morgan township
∕
Proposed activity is consistent with existing land uses and considered to have a negligible impact on the amenity of the township. Inability to secure this approval will jeopardise Heritage Minerals mine plan and affect members of the local community as some have jobs at the site
∕ It is anticipated that there will be no impact on social and community environmental values as a result of the proposed activity
∕
Cultural Heritage
∕
Aboriginal Cultural Heritage sites within Mount Morgan Mine MLs Unavoidable impact to MSES within footprint of proposed TSF
∕
No sites with cultural heritage value fall within the Upper Mundic Gully TSF footprint ∕
It is anticipated that there will be no impact on Cultural Heritage environmental values as a result of the proposed activity
Nature Conservation
∕
∕
Clearing of potential, but degraded, habitat for several MSES Clearing of known populations of Cycas megacarpa and, Grevillea hockingsii .
∕ Considering the historical disturbance and degraded nature of the project area, including existing ARD contamination in soil, the modified hydrology, and the presence of dense patches of weeds, there is a risk that the population of Cycas megacarpa and Grevillea hockingsii . within the project area will decline without intervention. ∕ The project proposes the implementation of a Management Plans which will detail methods to translocate individuals impacted by the project out of the degraded habitat and into an existing population off-site, as well as propagate and plant additional individuals. The management plans will have a net-positive goal, to not only mitigate the impact of the project but also avoid and potentially reverse the natural decline of the population ∕ It is anticipated that impacts to MSES as a result of the proposed activity will be adequately mitigated through management strategies, including the development of species-specific management plans for Cycas megacarpa and Grevillea hockingsii. These plans will strive towards a net-positive outcome for the two species by committing to the collection and propagation of seeds, and the translocation or planting of these species into suitable recipient sites.

Waste
∕
Increase of waste generated through disposal into the permanent TSF
∕
Tailings waste is considered mineral waste to be permanently stored in an engineered facility designed in accordance with relevant guidelines and best practice and operated in accordance with EA conditions
∕ It is anticipated that there will be no impact on waste environmental values as a result of the proposed activity.
