Mount Morgan Mine Upper Mundic Gully TSF EA Amendment

1.2

Purpose

The purpose of this SMP is to document and address the data and knowledge gaps identified through the hydrogeological conceptualisation developed for the proposed UMG TSF, which are relevant to the assessment of potential for seepage. The hydrogeological conceptualisation, based on a review of available data and groundwater modelling studies, establishes the current understanding of site conditions and identifies potential seepage risks, associated uncertainties, and key data gaps. The SMP incorporates these findings into a structured framework that defines the investigations, monitoring activities, and further studies required to address these gaps and to progressively improve confidence in seepage characterisation.

1.3

Scope of works

The scope of work undertaken to support this SMP includes:

— review and synthesis of available geological, hydrogeological, and geomorphological information relevant to seepage risk at the proposed TSF; — identification and documentation of key knowledge gaps, uncertainties, and limitations that influence seepage risk characterisation and management confidence; — definition of conceptual assumptions appropriate for seepage management planning at this stage of Project development; — identification of monitoring, sampling, and data collection requirements necessary to verify seepage performance and address priority data gaps; and — identification of preliminary seepage management and mitigation measures to inform ongoing design development, monitoring programs, and future decision‑making.
