Mount Morgan Mine Upper Mundic Gully TSF EA Amendment

5.6 Planting of tubestock Seed collected will be identified with a unique number as to the parent plant and recorded into the database and then forwarded to the experienced recipient nursery (Section 5.2.5 Nursery Contractor) for propagation. The Nursery contractor will maintain the seed and seedlings in batches, identified with the unique number. Given the possible limited seed availability, and the possibility that seed will need to be harvested from an off-site seed orchard, it may take 2 years before sufficient seedling tubestocks are available for planting. Seedling development (growth, health, survival) will be regularly checked with the nursery and planting timeframes adjusted according. Seedlings will ideally be hardened off at least 3 months prior to planting. Prior to planting, an aluminium tag will be attached to a post adjacent to each seedling with a unique identifier. Planting will follow the following method. • Planting holes shall be dug by hand to a depth 50mm deeper than the pot and ground cover vegetation trimmed within a 1 m diameter of the planting holes. • Into the bottom of the hole will be added 50 g low Phosphorus (P) organic fertiliser, this will be covered with a 25mm layer of soil. • Pots will be removed from seedlings and seedlings gently lowered into the hole, positioned vertically and backfilled using topsoil removed during the digging of the hole. • Each seedling shall be watered thoroughly at time of planting with at least 2 litres of water which includes a seaweed solution. 5.7 Hygiene Biosecurity hygiene practices shall be implemented to avoid the spread, proliferation and/or introduction of weeds and pathogens. These include ensuring tools, equipment, boots, vehicles and machinery are cleaned before arriving to site. • To manage the risk of weed introduction on the long-term health and viability of transplanted plants, a strict weed hygiene protocol will be implemented for the planting and monitoring phases. Disturbed areas within the broader project area are infested with a variety of weeds. Therefore, there is a risk that vehicles travelling through such areas may pick up and spread propagules of these weeds. • The weed hygiene protocol shall include the following controls, as a minimum: o All vehicles and machinery are to undergo a thorough weed washdown and inspection at an appropriate washdown facility before commencing work on site, to prevent the potential introduction and spread of weeds within the impacted sites and the recipient site.
