EA Condition
Action Program
the mandatory reporting level defined in Table H3 – Hydraulic performance of regulated dams .
W10 The holder of the environmental authority must design and maintain concentrator process plant bunding and spillage control to contain all possible process water flows, or accept runoff from a 0.1 AEP rainfall with ability to pump out and recover that capacity within 8 hours. W11 The holder of the environmental authority must design and maintain collection ponds, pumps and pipelines in operational areas to contain and remove rainfall runoff from disturbed areas within seven (7) days of the rainfall. W12 The holder of the environmental authority must only release rainfall runoff from disturbed areas within operational areas resulting from rainfall to the Mount Morgan Open Cut Pit. W13 The holder of the environmental authority must direct to the Sandstone Gully tailings dam all concentrator process plant discharges, and mining operations discharge flows other than those defined in condition W12. W14 The holder of the environmental authority must monitor concentrator process plant overflows at the locations and frequencies defined in Table W1 – Plant Overflow monitoring locations and frequency, for the parameters defined in Table W7 – Receiving water monitoring. W15 The holder of the environmental authority must monitor releases within disturbed areas at frequencies defined in Table W1 – Plant Overflow monitoring locations and frequency, for the parameters defined in Table W7 – Receiving water monitoring. Disturbance to existing site water management and diversion structures W16 The holder of the environmental authority must rebuild, repair or otherwise restore any and all existing site water diversion structures impacted by operations with structures designed to an equivalent or better standard and able to perform a similar role to those in place prior to modification. W17 When requested by the administering authority, the holder of the environmental authority must undertake within a reasonable and practical timeframe nominated by the administering authority, an investigation into any concern about potential environmental
No bunding or spillage control structures are proposed to be designed or constructed in the term of this PoO.
No collection ponds, pumps or pipelines are proposed to be designed or constructed in the term of this PoO.
Upon commencement of mining, all runoff from disturbed areas will be transferred to the Mount Morgan Open Cut Pit. No disturbance is projected for the term of this PoO. Upon commencement of mining, the EA holder will direct the discharges outlined in W13 to the Sandstone Gully tailings dam as required. Active mining is not projected for the current PoO, and there will be no such discharges during the term of this PoO. There will be no concentrator operations during the term of this PoO. Upon the commencement of mining, the EA holder will conduct monitoring of releases within disturbed areas as required. Only minor activities will occur on site during the term of this PoO (including maintenance and environmental investigations). There are no proposed disturbances to waterways or drainage channels, the storage of water, or changes to the local water regime. As no mining operations will occur during the term of this PoO, no environmental harm on existing site water management systems is expected to occur. DNRME
